Magnetic Hinges
We designed and patented this unique system to prevent accidental breakage of your favorite glasses. Francis Pikes are built without springs or screws, but instead use magnetic hinges that provide the same stability and functionality as normal glasses. The temple bars detach when put under excessive stress situations, without damaging or compromising the frame. In this case the reassembly is simple and immediate. Two end stops grant stability and comfort to the frame and temple bars, while four magnetic shields prevent any magnetic field from interfering with your everyday life. All of this has been done under the Italian sun, and we are very proud of it.
Modular design is the KEY. The material is super-resistant but, if something does happen, you can simply order the part that you need, which keeps the price very reasonable. No more tightening hinges over and over again, fixing with tape or having to buy brand new sunglasses just because of a broken temple bar. Now you can enjoy your hobbies and play your favorite sports without any worry.
When subjected to excessive stress, the bars detach from on end so they don't get damaged. They can be put back together with just a click!
Frames
Our frames are designed to be durable and lightweight while using a Swiss-made amorphous polyamide that minimize our impact on the environment. The frames material is composed of 58% renewable resources and produced using castor plants and bio-mass energy. The technical characteristics of this material make it perfect for glasses and sunglasses with its fatigue strength, excellent toughness, low density, outstanding resistance to weather, chemicals and solvents. A sustainable ultra-durable product with comfort, lightness and high performance, entirely designed and built in ITALY.
The shape of the frame is stylish and works for everybody; the modular design allows you to personalize and put together different parts of the sunglasses based on your daily mood or outfit. Owning two different pairs of Francis Pike means having 8 different combinations of colors available, with 3 pairs, 27 combinations!

Lenses
Our lenses are made of an ultra-light transparent polyamide, produced by the world-famous German company Carl Zeiss AG. The material offers great shock resistance and, because of its pureness and clarity, a very high optical quality (ABBE 52), which increases definition and reduces eyesight tiredness, all while filtering the entire range of UV rays for a complete UV400 protection from the sun. On top of that, the lightness of the material prevents the sunglasses from sliding down the bridge of your nose.
In order to further improve the durability and lifespan, the lenses undergo three specific treatments: scratch-resistance, oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings. The scratch-resistant technology prevents scuffs if the sunglasses are not stored properly or dropped by chance. The oil-repellant treatment prevents collecting fingerprints and makes the lenses easier to clean. The hydrophobic coating repels water droplets and makes the lenses anti-static, keeping dirt particles and dust away. This way you can enjoy your sunglasses with a carefree attitude, even when playing sports or hiking.
Our lenses are made of a transparent polyamide that is ultra-light but offers great impact resistance.
